Rx Outreach is a nonprofit, digital pharmacy that provides over 950 affordable medication strengths to people across the United States. Rx Outreach was an internal program originally developed in 2004 as a subsidiary of Express Scripts. In 2010, Express Scripts spun off Rx Outreach to be a standalone, charitable organization to improve access to prescription medications for uninsured and underinsured people. We have provided prescription medications to over 500,000 patients.
Rx Outreach has been providing safe, affordable medication to patients across the country since 2010. All our medications are FDA approved and supplied directly by pharmaceutical manufacturers. We are regulated by the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency, licensed by the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, and maintain licensing to deliver FDA-approved medications. Rx Outreach is accredited by the following: National Association of Boards of Pharmacy as an Accredited Digital Pharmacy, Better Business Bureau as an Accredited Charity, and GuideStar as a Platinum Level charity, the highest possible rating. Lastly, Rx Outreach has been recognized among the “Best Online Pharmacies” by Forbes (2022, 2023, and 2024) and Money Magazine (2020 and 2021).
Most medication from Rx Outreach is not free; however, because we are a nonprofit organization, our prices are significantly less expensive than retail pharmacies. We offer around 10-25 free medications each month on a first-come, first-served basis. This list is only available through our Monthly Newsletters. You can sign up for this newsletter by clicking on the button for “Patient Newsletter” and submitting your email address at the very bottom of each of our website pages.
Yes, many of our patients find our medication prices are less than their co-pays. Patients who are eligible for Medicare Part D can use Rx Outreach, specifically when they reach the “donut hole.” However, Rx Outreach does not accept insurance (including Medicare), so the cost is out-of-pocket.

Our pharmacy also provides high-quality service and dispensing accuracy due to the level of automation used in dispensing your prescription.

We do not have, nor do we require, coupons or pharmacy cards.

We add medication based on community needs and our ability to secure competitive pricing. If we do not have the medication you need, please let us know at questions@rxoutreach.org. We recommend Needy Meds (https://www.needymeds.org) to find Patient Assistance Programs and discounted medication programs.
To open an account, visit our login page (https://portal.rxoutreach.org/register). You can also call us at 314-222-0472 or simply have your prescription sent to us.
Once you have been enrolled in the program you may transfer your prescriptions to Rx Outreach through the Patient Portal (https://portal.rxoutreach.org/login). Your prescriptions must have enough refills for a 30-day supply to be able to complete the transfer. Please note many controlled medications cannot be transferred from another pharmacy and must be sent directly from a doctor’s office.
If you know Rx Outreach carries your medication, your doctor can prescribe your medication to Rx Outreach electronically (Surescripts network under NCPDP ID 2635855) or by fax (1-800-875-6591). Some of our patients download and bring our 1-page Medication by Disease State list to their doctor to see if a less expensive alternative is available at Rx Outreach.
Please call us to add a credit or debit card to your account. We will not charge your card without authorization. If you set up pay authorization, we will text you when it is time for a refill. You can reply “Yes” to this text, and we’ll process your order and send your medication to you.

Please call us at 314-222-0472 to add this feature to your account. If you have a credit or debit card on file and receive texts, we will text you when it is time for a refill. You can reply “Yes” to this text, and we’ll process the payment for your order and send your medication to you. How do I upload my ID for controlled medications?
Although different states have different regulations regarding controlled medications, you generally need a form of identification if you see “(CS)” following the name of your medication on our Medication List. You can upload a copy of your government-issued photo ID (for example, a driver’s license, state ID, or passport) through the Patient Portal under the settings menu. We only need the front side of your license.
You can manage your account at https://portal.rxoutreach.org/login. If you cannot access your account, be sure to use the same email address as when you opened your account. You can reset the password from that page.
Refills may be requested through the patient portal, through text messaging or by phone if you are using a credit card.
To request a refill of your medication(s) online, login into the patient portal, select the Refill button on your patient page, enter your information in all the appropriate fields, and submit. Your order will be processed in 48 hours.
If you wish to call to refill your prescription, please call customer service at 314-222-0472.
If you would like to refill by text messaging, please let us know so that this feature is active on your account. We’ll text you and ask if you’d like a refill. Reply “Yes” and the automated refill process will begin.
If you have no refills left on your prescription, please request your doctor send a new prescription.
You can check your refills in the Patient Portal. You will also receive a Refill Reminder call or text reminder approximately two weeks prior to your medication running out, if you opt-in to receive text message alerts. To make sure you do not have a lapse in your medication, please take action when you receive these notifications.
You are able to check the status of your order through the Patient Portal. Log in to your account to view the status of all of your prescription orders. Shipment status update may not be available for up to 24 hours after order ships. If you have additional questions about your order, please call us at 1-314-222-0472 or 1-800-769-3880.
If texting is enabled on your account, when your order is processed, you will receive a text with the tracking number. Shipment status updates may not be available for up to 24 hours after the order ships.
You can sign up for texting when you first enroll through the Patient Portal or by calling and letting our staff know you’d like to enable that feature on your account. Once you have created an account in the patient portal, you will need to call us to add the texting feature.
The majority of our medications and all diabetic supplies are shipped through major shipping carriers with delivery confirmation. Controlled substances ship via USPS first class with signature confirmation. You may also request that your shipment be expedited.
Once we have everything needed to process your prescription (prescription, payment, and ID if needed) your prescription validated. It will then be shipped and will arrive in 3-6 business days. Select controlled medications will arrive more quickly. This is our free standard shipping, and the cost is built into the price of your medication. Mail-order programs are intended for medications that you take over a long period of time, such as high blood pressure medication, diabetes medications, and supplies.
You may request expedited shipping for an additional fee. See the chart below for details. We cannot expedite shipping to a PO Box address. Locations outside of the continental U.S., such as Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and Alaska, may not be eligible for expedited shipping and/or will not be delivered as quickly. *Overnight SATURDAY ($70) is only available on packages shipping out on Fridays and must be approved by a supervisor. Not all addresses are eligible for Saturday delivery. What if my medication does not arrive or gets lost in the mail?
If your prescription does not reach you in the initial shipment period (6-10 days), please call customer service immediately at 1-314-222-0472. Don’t worry, your Rx Outreach prescriptions are mailed in a secure, nondescript package and tracked. We cannot provide refunds or replacements after 30 days. We are unable to accept returned medications, even if they are unopened.
Yes, all Rx Outreach medications are filled at our St. Louis area pharmacy by licensed pharmacists. We mail your prescriptions in a secure, nondescript package to any address of your choice. All our packages are trackable.

Rx Outreach primarily offers generic drugs, which are a chemically equivalent, lower-cost version of brand-name drugs. A brand-name drug and its generic equivalent are required by the FDA to have the same active ingredient, dosage, safety, strength, usage directions, quality, performance and intended use. At Rx Outreach, you’ll find the same quality medications that you’re used to or the generic equivalent for less, delivered to your door.
All of our medications are FDA approved and directly supplied by either the pharmaceutical manufacturer or a recognized national drug wholesaler. All of our suppliers are licensed by the State of Missouri. Also, all prescriptions that are provided through Rx Outreach are verified filled by U.S. licensed pharmacists.

For an emergency, you should call 911 immediately. Another resource is the national, toll-free Poison Help line, 1-800-222-1222. They can connect you to your local poison center and is a resource for help in a poisoning emergency.
At this time, insulin is not available from Rx Outreach; however, we do carry Insulin Syringes, Blood Glucose Monitors and Strips, Lancets, and some medications that help control blood sugar for diabetes (Glipizide Tablets, Glimepiride Tablets, etc.).
