Title:   Patient Support Advocate (Bilingual, Spanish)

Reports to:   Front-End Operations Coordinator

Compensation:   $22/hour

Position Summary:

Rx Outreach is seeking a compassionate and mission-driven Patient Support Advocate to join our patient call center team. In this frontline role, you will provide direct assistance to patients, caregivers, and healthcare partners across the country, helping them access affordable medications and navigate Rx Outreach’s pharmacy services. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment and is passionate about making a difference in people’s lives.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide empathetic, professional assistance to patients via phone, email, and online messages, addressing questions about prescriptions, program eligibility, order status, pricing, and more.
  • Support patients and partners through complex medication access needs, offering clear guidance and escalating concerns to the appropriate internal teams when needed.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry across systems, including patient records, orders, and partner information.
  • Help patients troubleshoot account access or documentation issues and proactively follow up to ensure resolution and satisfaction.
  • Educate patients on Rx Outreach’s services and mission, empowering them to make informed choices about their health.
  • Collaborate with team members to support a consistent, high-quality patient experience across all touchpoints.
  • Operate within a mission-driven, performance-oriented environment, meeting benchmarks related to responsiveness, patient satisfaction, and data accuracy.
  • Identify common challenges or trends in patient concerns and recommend solutions to improve service and efficiency.
  • Actively participate in a culture of learning and feedback—both giving and receiving—with the goal of continually improving our processes and your own development.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience in a customer service or call center role, especially within a healthcare, nonprofit, or pharmacy setting.
  • Comfort working across multiple channels (phone, email, online forms) in a fast-paced environment.
  • A compassionate, problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle sensitive or urgent patient issues.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Familiarity with patient support systems, pharmacy operations, or healthcare navigation (experience with Medicare patients a plus).
  • Experience working in a mission-focused or metrics-driven environment.
  • Willingness to learn, grow, and contribute ideas for improving the patient experience and internal systems.
  • Comfort with remote work tools and a stable internet connection for occasional remote work opportunities.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.

Required Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent
  • Able to get Pharmacy Technician Licensure or provide proof of current license
  • General computer knowledge
  • Basic math skills

Title:     Staff Pharmacist
Department:     Pharmacy
Reports to:      Pharmacist in Charge

Position Summary

Rx Outreach is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and mission-driven Staff Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. In this frontline role, you will provide direct support to patients, caregivers, and healthcare partners nationwide—ensuring safe, timely, and affordable access to medications through our mail-order and community pharmacy services.

This position plays a critical part in our efforts to reduce barriers to health, especially for people living with chronic conditions or navigating financial hardship. The ideal candidate thrives in a service-oriented environment, communicates with empathy, and values teamwork and innovation. This role also requires the flexibility to occasionally support our Dellwood Community Pharmacy location in Dellwood, MO.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Dispense medications in accordance with all state and federal regulatory requirements and Rx Outreach protocols.
  • Review prescriptions for accuracy, clinical appropriateness, and potential drug interactions.
  • Communicate with prescribers and patients to clarify prescription details and ensure safe, effective therapy.
  • Track order status, resolve discrepancies, and provide timely updates to patients and care teams.
  • Deliver consultative support to patients with professionalism and empathy.

Primary Duties

  • Support daily pharmacy operations, including supervising and verifying technician work.
  • Maintain awareness of each state’s pharmacy regulations and licensing requirements.
  • Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications, lost orders, or potential errors in a timely and solutions-oriented manner.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality assurance, workflow efficiency, and positive patient outcomes.
  • Uphold daily performance benchmarks in production, accuracy, and service.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provide on-the-floor guidance, mentorship, and quality assurance oversight to pharmacy technicians and operations staff.

Work Environment

  • Split between professional office space and a climate-controlled pharmacy warehouse setting.
  • Uses standard office equipment and pharmacy automation tools (e.g., scanners, packaging machines).

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Able to repetitively lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be comfortable using ladders and accessing shelving at heights.

Position Type / Schedule

  • Full-time position.
  • Monday through Saturday availability required; may rotate between mail-order and community pharmacy settings based on organizational need.

Travel

  • Minimal; local travel may be required occasionally for team support or training.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy (RPh or PharmD)
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing
  • 2–3 years of professional experience in a pharmacy setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to serving underserved and vulnerable patient populations
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and collaborate across departments
  • Familiarity with state/federal dispensing laws and insurance processes

Preferred:

  • Supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Experience in mail-order, retail, or nonprofit pharmacy environments
