The Patient Advisory Board is a group of patients and family caregivers who meet three times a year to share their experience and give us advice on how to serve patients better. It is a real advisory role, and your input shapes our programs and decisions.

Anyone who has had trouble getting medications can apply, whether the problem was cost, confusing paperwork, or not knowing what options exist. You do not need to be a current Rx Outreach patient. Past patients, people who have used other assistance programs, and family members who have helped a loved one through these problems are all welcome to apply. We want people from many backgrounds, ages, and areas, because different experiences make our work stronger.

No. You do not need a health care background or policy knowledge. Your own story is the expertise we need. If you have lived it, you qualify.

Three online meetings a year, about 2 to 3 hours each. You can join from home.

Board membership lasts three years, but we know life happens and we can be flexible if your circumstances change.

Yes. We provide a $75 payment for each meeting, and we also cover costs like child care or technology so nothing stands between you and taking part.

No. You can join by phone instead, and we provide technology support if you need it.

Tell us what you need and we will work with you, whether that means captions, interpretation, extra time, or another kind of accommodation. We take this seriously.

Only if you want them to. When you join, you choose how you want to be shown: with your name and photo, just your name, no name but your general area, or fully private. The choice is yours.

What you say in meetings stays confidential. We may share general feedback with leadership, such as "Board members said the application process was confusing," without saying who said it. If we ever want to use your exact words in public materials, we will show you first and get your approval before anything is published.

Yes, if they have faced these barriers themselves, either for their own care or while helping you. Family caregivers with this kind of experience are welcome to apply.
